Revenue Team Conducts Land Survey Amid Encroachment Dispute in Sisawa Babu Village, Belghat

Revenue Team’s Strict Action Causes Uproar in Sisawa Babu Village

Location: Development Block Belghat, Gorakhpur District

On Wednesday, a joint operation by the revenue team and local police in Sisawa Babu village of Belghat caused quite a stir. Under the leadership of Revenue Inspectors Prayagjeet and Dev Narayan Mishra, revenue officers and police personnel conducted a survey of the public pathway (chakmarg, Gata Number 150). During the inspection, illegal encroachments on the public pathway were confirmed, and the team warned the encroachers to remove the unauthorized constructions immediately.

Encroachment on Public Path and Unauthorized Constructions

During the survey, the team discovered parts of the public path had been illegally paved with interlocking tiles, obstructing the passage. Additionally, some houses had already been constructed along the path, while others were still under construction. Four individuals were identified as encroachers, and notices were issued to them on the spot.

Villagers’ Complaints and Dispute

The dispute surrounding the public path began when Village Head Vijay Sharma initiated the installation of interlocking tiles on the road connecting Tiwari Tola to Ratni Siwan. However, Ram Kusum Yadav, a resident of the village, opposed the construction, claiming the land in question was part of his private property.

The Case Raised on Problem-Solving Day

To resolve the matter, Village Head Vijay Sharma submitted a petition to the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Khajni during Problem-Solving Day, requesting an official survey. Acting on this petition, the administration ordered the revenue and police teams to conduct a ground survey and clarify the boundaries of the disputed land.

Strict Warning from Authorities

After identifying the encroachments, the administration issued a strict directive, warning encroachers to remove the illegal constructions immediately. The authorities also made it clear that legal action would be taken if the encroachments were not removed voluntarily.

Statements from Villagers – Voices from Both Sides

Several villagers present during the operation shared their views on the issue. Daya Shankar Tripathi, a resident of Sisawa Babu, said:
“We had submitted a petition along with Village Head Vijay Sharma on Problem-Solving Day, leading to this official survey. It has now been proven that the public path was indeed blocked by illegal constructions.”

On the other hand, Ram Bhavan Yadav and his mother claimed they were not informed about the survey.
“We were never notified about this survey,” said Ram Bhavan Yadav. “A similar survey was conducted on February 25, but we were not given proper information back then either.”

Encroachments and Administrative Action

The survey revealed that the public path had been diverted from its original route and was later paved with interlocking tiles at certain points, obstructing the way. Unauthorized houses and partially constructed structures were also found along the path.

The authorities identified four individuals responsible for the encroachments, issued notices, and instructed them to remove the illegal structures without delay.

Zero Tolerance for Encroachments on Public Property

The administration emphasized its commitment to keeping public pathways free from illegal encroachments and warned that stricter measures would be taken if necessary.
